ARTISTS - STATEMENT

One of my ongoing themes is the exploration of the local cityscape and the continual process of transformation whereby structures are removed, adapted and created, in so doing forming layers  like geological layers  over time. This process juxtaposes the materials, functions and values of successive generations, creating visual narratives for us to interpret, redefine or even question. The contrast of shapes and spaces is heightened by the presence of cranes and building processes as much as by demolitions.

The other main strand of my work is focused on visualizations of aircraft forms superimposed on decorative, imaginative backdrops of land and water. This unites an interest in the aesthetic qualities of engineered flying machines and landforms seen from an aerial perspective in which l also stretch and play with horizon, perspective and scale.

My work sells as original limited edition prints and I am happy to undertake commissions.
